Your dinners just got easier with this quick recipe. This is a one-pan dinner and it’s healthy. That’s a winner in my book. This Egg Roll in a bowl takes less than 15 minutes to make.
Ingredients:
- Ground Chicken You could also use Ground Turkey or Ground Beef
- Coleslaw Mix
- Yellow or White Onion
- Garlic
- Green Onions
- Fresh Ginger
- Coconut Amino
- Water Chestnuts (optional)
- Sesame Seeds (optional)
- Sriracha Mayo (optional)
Ground Chicken
I love this dish with ground chicken. I have also used ground turkey. Both of these options are healthier
Coconut Aminos
Use Coconut aminos instead of soy sauce. This is a substitute for soy sauce and I use it all of the time. For example, in my Chicken Cauliflower Rice recipe, I use it in place of soy sauce. No one even knows. It’s Whole30-and Keto friendly too.
Coleslaw Mix
To make this recipe super easy I use Coleslaw Mix. It’s so convenient and beats chopping a head of cabbage.
Sriracha Mayo
This is optional, but I do feel like it adds to the flavor. I only use a little bit because it does have a little bite to it. Keep in mind if you are on a restricted diet, this does contain eggs.
Water Chestnuts
This is another optional ingredient. I decided to add this at the last minute because my husband likes them and I loved how it turned out. They are higher in carbs so again, if you follow a certain diet, this may not work for you.
Sesame Seeds
You can add this to your bowl if you desire. It’s a mixture of Black Sesame Seeds and White Sesame Seeds.
How to Make Egg Roll in a Bowl
- Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add ground chicken and brown for 5-6 minutes or until chicken is almost done. Season with sea salt and pepper.
- Add white onion, garlic, and ginger, and saute until fragrant.
- Add coleslaw mix and green onions (water chestnuts if desired) once the chicken is browned. Cook for 5 minutes or until coleslaw is finished.
- Divide into bowls and add sesame seeds and or Sriracha Mayo if you desire.

- 1 small Onion, diced
- 2 Tbsp. Minced Gralic
- 1 bunch Green Onion, diced
- 1 Tbsp. Fresh Ginger, grated
- 2 Tbsp. Coconut Amino
- 2 Tbsp. Sesame Seeds optional
- Sriracha Mayo opitional
- Water Chesnuts, drained optional
Instructions
- Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add ground chicken and brown 5-6 minutes or until chicken is alomost done. Season with sea salt and pepper.
- Add white onion, garlic and giner and saute until fragrant.
- Add coleslaw mix and green onions (water chesnuts if desired) once the chicken is browned. Cook for 5 minutes or until coleslaw is finished.
- Divide into bowls and add sesame seeds and or Sriracha Mayo if you desire.
