Since signing back up for the Faster Way to Fat Loss VIP workouts, I have added Protein shakes back into my diet. I love this drink because I feel like I’m having a little treat when really I am fueling my body with healthy foods.
I have tried several protein powders. I can’ t express how important having the right protein powder is. Not only for the taste, but also the ingredients. Not all protein powders are created equal. With that said I have a few that I am going to recommend.
Designer Whey Protein Powder
I have been using this whey protein powder for years. I love it. It is affordable and tastes good. There is No Artificial Flavors, No Artificial Sweeteners, No Artificial Colors, No Preservatives. You can find it here.
Juice Plus Complete French Vanilla
This protein powder is a Whole Food Plant Based Shake Mix. Gluten Free+ Non-Dairy Low Glycemic, Fiber, vegan. However, there are natural sugars in this one. It isn’t a whey protein powder so it’s great if you are dairy free or not a fan of whey. I love the taste and I am a big fan of Juice Plus. A friend of mine is a distributor and I purchased mine from her here.
Orgain Organic Plant Based Protein Powder
This plant-based protein powder is organic, gluten free, kosher, vegan, non-GMO, soy free. No artificial flavors, colors or preservatives. It calls for 2 scoops, but I highly recommend only using one. It’s a tad gritty with two scoops, but with a good blender, I think it would be less noticeable. You can find it here.
Collagen Peptides
You will notice in my recipe I use Collagen Peptides. I truly feel this stuff has made a difference in my skin, and joints. It is unflavored and you can not taste it. This is totally optional though. You can definitely leave it out of the recipe. You can find it here. Here is some info about it.
- Pasture-Raised, Grass-Fed, Non-GMO, Kosher; Our collagen powder is soluble in cold and hot liquids.
- Collagen peptides promote youthful skin, healthier hair, and stronger nails
- Helps keeps bones healthy and strong, supports joint health
- Whole 30 Approved, Gluten Free, Dairy Free
PB2
You may be wondering why I call for this instead of traditional peanut butter. The PB2 has fewer calories and fat making it only a total of 5g carbohydrates. This is great for my low carb days. There are no additives and is all-natural. I love the taste too. No additives
Honey
If you want to sweeten the protein shake, add raw honey. I like to add it because my kids usually want to drink the shake with me. It’s not included in the nutritional information, so you will need to calculate it if you decide to add it.
Blenders
Now let’s talk about blenders. I have two different blenders and they both work great. My larger blender works the best but it isn’t always convenient when I am in a hurry and trying to make a quick shake. The large blender does mix much better though. These are the two I own.
