I consider my home a traditional style. When I redesigned this home the things I wanted my family and guest to feel when they walked in the front door is a warm inviting comfort with elegance. My living room colors are a mix of antique or dusty blue, navy and white mixed with gold, silver and dark pieces of wood. I decided to use the same colors for Christmas. Some may also call this Grandmillennial style.
Blue, White and Gold Christmas Tree
My Christmas tree is a 12 foot flock pre-lit. This is my second tree from this place and I love it. I used velvet ribbon for bows and to drape down the tree.
Blue and White Built-in Bookshelf Decor
For the built-in bookshelves I kept some of my original decorations up. I added some nutcrackers, reindeer, pinecones and mini Christmas tress. See my tip at the end of this post.
Christmas Garland
The garland I use is so realist looking and feeling. I use on my mantle and it on the staircase too. It’s an investment, but worth it. You can use it year after year.
Christmas Foyer Entryway
As you walk into the entryway you will see another flocked tree with gold, silver and white ornaments. This tree is really pretty enough without anything on it. I added a gold tree collar and two nutcrackers. I have developed a little obsession with nutcrackers.
Garland on Staircase
I added garland to the bannisters and tied an antique blue ribbon around some areas to create a beautiful bow. I also love bows. It is such a simple way to add classic charm to your home for the holidays.
Tip for Seasonal Decorating
Here is a tip: Take a photo of how your decorations looked before you decorate for the holidays. This really helps me when I switch my things back. Also, take a picture of how you styled your home with the Christmas decorations. This helps for the next year.
