Back to School is a big deal in our house. We have several Back to School Traditions I started years ago. I am going to share some fun ideas with you, so you can start your own traditions with your family.

Back to School Shopping Trip
The first thing we do every year is a back to School shopping trip. We go to the mall and each one of my kids pick out an outfit to wear on the first day of school. Both my girls have similar taste in clothes. My girls love Gymboree and I love it because I can dress my kids from head-to-toe. From clothes, shoes to matching accessories. My girls had a blast looking at Gymboree’s Back to School Line. I call Natalie my little sassy pants. She was super excited to find these Sparkle Sneakers. They totally fit her personality!
Claire is a fan of sparkle shoes too.
Both girls were so excited to pick out their very own outfits. Claire went with the Striped Star Dress, Denim Jacket and Sparkle Sneakers.
Allowing kids to pick out their own outfit gives them a sense of independence. Natalie had the most fun picking out her outfit. This outfit totally fits her personality. Spunky, fun and full of life.

Photo Shoot
Now it’s time for the Photo Shoot. Who doesn’t love to dress up in their new clothes and take pictures? I love doing photo shoots with the girls so they can really let their personalities shine.
I’m pretty sure my kids are excited to start back to school. Can’t you tell from their pictures?
Back to School Breakfast
I have been doing this tradition since my first child stared Kindergarten. It is something my kids talk about every year. They look forward to it. I try to get them excited for the first day of school, because I know how important School is.
I let each kids decide what they want for breakfast on the first day of School. In the past I have made homemade donuts, homemade pancakes, scrambled eggs, sausage and bacon. I set up a fun table and make the morning about them.

I’m excited about my kids making new friends.
I’m looking forward to seeing my wonderful first graders again!!
I’m excited to see how many wonderful things my daughter will learn! She is so into science, math, reading & art, so it will be interesting to see what her eyes are opened to this year 🙂
I used to teach first grade before staying home with our son. I’m excited for school to start so I can get back in the classroom and do some subbing at my old school!
It means we only have 9 more months till summer!
Watching my daughter play soccer, me time during the day to catch up on things that have neglected all summer, and being back on a schedule
I am going to miss my grand daughter being home all day but am happy she is so excited for school to start. Excited for her to wear all her new shoes and clothes. 2nd grade is going to be so great for her and meeting all her new friends and having them over for play dates. Love love Gymboree.

Everything fall is coming up!
I’m excited for routine and schedules again! Plus I love volunteering and planning school parties!
I’m excited for start to start again and see the smiles on my children’s faces when I pick them up and hear all about their teachers and new classmates!!
My kids have always been homeschooled. So this will be their first year going to public school. I am excited to hear all the stories they will have. Each boy is excited and nervous about different things. I can’t wait to hear how they like it and how it all goes. My oldest went to school last year for the last quarter to get used to school before high school. He was most surprised by having to raise your hand every time to talk. Excited for new adventures!

Back to school means more room on the beach during Fall vacation! 😉

Excited for our routine to get normal again. My son loves school. He can’t wait to show off his new shoes lol also means that fall is coming. Pumpkin spice is my favorite scent ever!!

Excited for new adventures! My youngest will be in kindergarten this year and I start a new job at the school.
My children are all grown and my grandson is only 2 so I don’t have anyone starting school but I could use the gift card on my adorable grandson! Have to share the tradition we had when our boys were growing up — on the first day of school they got to pick a restaurant where we would go for dinner that evening. Back then eating out was a big deal and it was a great time to talk about their first day of school. Miss those days!

To be honest, I’m not really looking forward to school starting! We’ve had such a fun summer and I think I may have a really hard time with my son going back. However, I do LOVE fall so I’m looking forward to enjoying everything about the season!
i am most excited about the new friends my kiddos will be making and weekly fellowship with my women’s bible study on Thursday mornings. New beginnings for all of us and so many untouched hearts God is ready to put right in our path.
We have very similar traditions at our house! We’ve got hair cuts & dentist appointments this week. We’ll be going back to school shopping next week for clothes. I’m really looking forward to getting back into our routine.

I am excited that my kids will be on a set schedule, my youngest no longer complaining of being bored and of having some free time to myself. But really happy that they get to see their friends more often

We’ve had a rough summer, which began the end of last school year. Our children have had a great summer, went on our annual family vacation, and to visit their family that lives out of state. With our events and changes that have. And still are occurring, their summer wasn’t “as planned” tho. AND, they’re starting a new school. We’re ready to see the new adventures and watch our children continue to grow and learn. Oh, and most importantly, have a routine back!!!!!
