Have you ever wondered how I style my short hair? Well, now I am going to share it with you today. This short stacked inverted bob hairstyle is the easiest. I can fix it in 10 minutes and that’s even with blowdrying time. See I told you it was fast! Bonus: A video is also included.
Easy Short Hairstyle Anyone can do:
I can’t tell you how often I receive compliments on my haircut. I even have had people ask if they could take a picture of my hair. And let me just say this is the easiest hairstyle to style. It is so fast and super cute. I can blow dry and style it in about ten minutes. How’s that for fast?! I thought I would share the products I use and how I style my hair. All of these products are a must for me.
Hot Tools for Short Hair
After I shower, I blow dry my hair. Then I use my mini flat iron to straighten my hair. This tool has made my life easier. It’s perfect for short hair!
Adding Volume to the hair
Next, I use the Big Sexy Hair Powder Play Volumizing & Texturizing Powder. This stuff is amazing! I add it to my roots and to the back of my hair to give it volume. It lifts my hair and helps me achieve that fullness and volume I am wanting. I sprinkle a little at my roots then I just use my fingers to rub it in then fluff my hair along with the Powder Play.
Holding the Hair in Place
Lastly, I spray with hair spray and continue to fluff until my desired look is achieved. I then spray my hair to keep it in place. I love this hair spray because it holds great. If you don’t care for a strong-hold hair spray, you could do a flexible hold. For me, I have to use a strong-hold hair spray.

Your hair is so cute! I had hair shorter than yours for a few years and it was awesome as far as styling and time-saving, but the style didn’t suit me. (I was a broke college student who went to a chop shop for the cut – LOL!) Ever since I’ve grown it back out, I have a hard time even considering a short cut again, because it was a struggle to get it this long. But getting up for work at 5am and spending at least 30 minutes blow drying then flat ironing my longer (and super thick) hair makes me want to consider it again. 🙂

How often do you have to wash your hair? Just wondering if the powder play makes it able to go a couple days or if you feel like it needs to be washed more often? Thank you!
To really fix my hair I need to usually wash it daily. I can get away with doing every other day sometimes. I don’t really have oily hair, but I am sure the powder helps some if you do. 🙂 However, this powder gives your hair sort of a stiff like feeling. It does not make your hair feel soft.

Hi Stephanie! I just showed my hair dresser pictures of styles I wanted. You could just take my picture and show it to your hairdresser and I am sure she/he could do it. 🙂 I use the mini flat iron and straighten my hair. The picture you are referring to I think is just the way my hair lays sometimes when I “poof” it up. 🙂 It sometimes looks straighter. Just depends on the day I guess. 😉 I hope that helps.
I have a somewhat similar cut but the crown is shorter and I spike it. Can you get this much body and volume without using mousse or gel before you dry? If so I would love to get away from some of those products.

I noticed you do not use anything in your hair before blow drying, Not even mouse or a root lifter or anything? I maybe use too many products. I also have Kendra 25 for my spray is this just as good for styling? Thank you

You are correct. I don’t use anything before I blow drying it. That’s not to say I shouldn’t. I’m just always in a hurry so less is best for me. 🙂 I have heard Kendra 25 is a great product. I personally have not used it. If it’s not a firm hold you may need something a little stronger. 🙂

I have a similar hair style with bangs.they are not short bangs though.i love my hair straight but notice that if I straighten it too much it seems more damaged and because of this i tend to let my hair go wavy.is there a product out there for that will hell to protect from damage?

First of all you are just cute as can be!! I have the same hair style but just a tiny bit longer. I have the same 2 colors highlighted by foil as you do! My hair has been fine all my life (and I will be 59 next month). The Big Sexy products are great and I am able to get the volume needed – but have to add a bit of tease as bad as I hate to do that to my fine hair. I’ve never heard of the Big Sexy Powder Play. I will definitely be purchasing this product ASAP! So glad to be able to stop adding tease to my hair. I’m new to flat irons. Always have used a 1″ curling iron so now I will learn the flat iron technique. Hello. I have very thin hair. And I have no volume at all. The length is just past my shoulders. I’ve never been able to find any shampoo/ conditioner or any hair products to give my hair any body or volume. I also have thyroud issues that causes my hair to fall out. Alot. I want to go a bit shorter. But I’m not sure of the back being shorter than the front. I love the hair cut that Jane Fonda has. But my hair is nowhere near that thick. It’s very fine and very very thin. Can u please recommend some products that may help me with my issues?. I’ve even thought about extensions to get thicker hair and more body and volume.
I had long hair past my shoulder, took a photo in and got a very short pixie especially at the back, I’m not upset although I wanted something like a layered bob and got something very different. I love the cut and how it was styled but I just wish I could find a hairdresser that actually looked closely at the photo and that didn’t take it shorter than you wanted. So I cannot style the back, it’s about 1/2 inch so I need to style the front, I push it behind my one ear and it is flattering. Everyone loves it. Maybe it will “grow” on me LOL I am thinking in a few months it will look more like your hair and your tutorial is helpful so I know how to style it. I lost a lot of hair a few months after covid 19 infection and my hairdresser said she is seeing a lot of women with this happening and why I chose to go a little shorter.
